Ghostrunner is a mix between a platformer and a slasher game. Platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna.Developer: One More Level, Slipgate Ironworks. Just like the previous games in the series, Half-Life: Alyx mainly relies on shooting mechanics and puzzle-solving. Players control Alyx Vance, a young woman that helps the human resistance movement with her father. It takes place between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, as Earth is under the control of an alien empire called the Combine. Instead, Valve released Half-Life: Alyx, a virtual reality FPS. But as you probably already know, the company didn’t release Half-Life 3, to the fans’ biggest despair. In 2020, Valve brought back the license that made it famous: Half-Life. Platform: Microsoft Windows and Linux with VR headsets. Not only is the setting incredibly futuristic, it still harbors the grime and dirt of a super city from our very own Earth – calling this the perfect playground for an adventurous stray cat would be an understatement. The aesthetics of this city were supposedly influence by Kowloon Walled City, an ungoverned and densely populated Chinese enclave in British ruled Hong Kong. Set in a futuristic secret city hidden beneath a ruined city, a stray cat finds itself trapped in a world that is completely foreign. Stray is the science-fiction game that you didn’t know you needed to play, and possibly the most unusual one around. Here are the best sci-fi single-player games you can’t afford to miss. Whether you want to explore the stars, discover an alternative universe, or would just like to slay some aliens, there is a sci-fi game for everyone. When you want to forget about the current state of the world and escape for a while, single-player sci-fi games are the best gateway.

12th Gen Intel® Core™ CPUs provide up to 16 CPU PCIe 5.0 lanes and up to four CPU PCIe 4.0 lanes, while 11th Gen Intel® Core™ CPUs like the Intel® Core™ i9-11900K provide up to 20 CPU PCIe 4.0 lanes. They also feature both backward- and forward-compatibility: not only can you connect a PCIe 3.0 SSD to a PCIe 4.0 slot, you could also connect a PCIe 4.0 SSD into a 3.0 slot.Ī key advantage of 12th and 11th Gen Intel® Core™ CPUs is the addition of CPU PCIe lanes following the new standards. On the surface, newer PCIe slots look the same as 3.0. (The bit rate is measured in gigatransfers to show the theoretical max speed before encoding-realized speeds may be slower.) While PCIe 3.0 had a data transfer rate of 8 gigatransfers per second, PCIe 4.0 transfers data at 16 GT/s, and PCIe 5.0 at 32 GT/s. Modern PCIe m.2 SSDs use x4 lanes.Įach generation of PCIe is twice as fast as its predecessor. GPUs are usually installed in the top x16 slot, as it has the most bandwidth and, traditionally, the most direct connection to the CPU. More lanes mean more bandwidth, as well as a longer slot. On the motherboard, PCIe lanes appear in x1, x2, x4, x8, and x16 variations. PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) is a high-bandwidth expansion bus commonly used to connect graphics cards and SSDs, as well as peripherals like capture cards and wireless cards. If you’ve built a PC before, you’ll recognize the PCIe slots running horizontally across your motherboard. Whether it’s a website, a Word document or an email – if you can highlight a passage of text, macOS can turn it into audio. Let me show you how to do it in this article. It doesn’t open automatically and we won’t need it to transfer tracks to our iPhones either. Turns out, this text-to-audio option bypasses iTunes altogether. Perhaps I held off for so long because the option reads “add to iTunes as Spoken Track” – and I’m just not a big fan of iTunes. I’ve seen the option in the context menu many times, but I’ve never dared to use it until today. This is a wonderful way to listen to written text while you’re on the go, or if you want to skim through text you or others have written while you’re occupied with another activity, such as walking or driving. Ever since Lion, Mac OS X 10.7, there has been a great and very underrated feature built-in to every Mac: the ability to highlight some text and have macOS turn it into an audio file. |
